Course Description: IB History Year 1 (History of the Americas) (Standley Lake High School)
IB History of the Americas is the higher level option for students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program. The course is taught to 11th grade IB students. It is primarily a modern history class, focusing mainly on the 20th century. Along with studying the history of the United States, the course also examines the history of many of the countries in the Americas, including Canada and countries in Latin America. +This course is required for IB Diploma Program candidates. Non-IB Diploma students may take this course in addition to the IB 20th Century World History course to fulfill the HL option.
