Course Description: AP Physics 1 (Green Mountain High School)
AP Physics 1 is designed by the College Board to parallel college-level physics courses that provide a systematic introduction to the main principles of physics and emphasize problem solving without calculus. Course content includes mechanics, electricity and magnetism, modern physics, waves and optics. Extensive experimentation, project design, and a wide range of media will be used to discuss the properties of the universe, the fundamental forces that control it, and the laws that describe it. Algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry, and various computer technologies will be used in the development of a principle, the solutions to related problems, and experimental analysis.
This course can earn 5 credits in AP Physics 1: Algebra-Based at Advanced Placement (AP) Program.
