Course Description: AP Biology (D'Evelyn Junior/Senior High School)
This advanced biology class is a college-level introductory course for biology and other science majors. Students considering a career in the life sciences or health professions will benefit greatly from this class. The goals of this class are to build on the knowledge base acquired in ninth grade Biology, developing an in-depth understanding of major biological concepts and principles. Critical thinking skills will be emphasized; the scientific method will be used to develop ease in problem solving. There will be extensive laboratory activities. Topics include: molecules and cells, heredity and evolution, organismal biology, and human anatomy & physiology.
